A Chlorination site certificate is issued after a chlorination has been carried out on new pipe work/tank/pump/plumbing used to supply drinking water. It should clearly describe the disinfection process used, the type & level of chlorine used and the British Standard followed.
Low bromate sodium hypochlorite (liquid chlorine) is used for the disinfection process. This is the same product as used by water companies to disinfect public water supplies and is approved for use in contact with drinking water.
If no sample is required the chlorination certificate can be issued on the day of the chlorination. If a microbiological sample was collected the certificate would be issued after 2-5 days - the time taken to analyse the water.
The chlorination service is similar for building services such as water tanks but it should be noted that the water tank may need to be cleaned prior to chlorination.
Our operatives hold in-date EUSR National Water Hygiene Cards and are WIAPS registered. Membership numbers are quoted on our certification. We are based in the Devon and Cornwall area but we can often attend site at short notice to provide chlorination services wherever the location.
